Where to look?
Many people ask me where to look for a good hotel. Well, first lets define a good hotel: clean, with shower or bath, a honesty price adequate to what is offered. Now, you can look at many hotel, hostels and flats websites from our Links section. All them are good places to stay, with prices ranging from cheap to amazingly expensive. If you arrive in London without a reservation the best place to go is Earls Court (Tube: Earls Court). Exit to Earls Court Road and go to Hogarth Road, just in front of the station. This street is full of cheap, good hotels, all them clean and nice. You also get the bonus of a wonderful neighborhood full of shops, restaurants and services.

The Ramsees Hotel
I recently tried the Ramsees Hotel in Hogarth Road and was pleased with what I found. A very nice, clean room with shower, balcony, color tv, cable and breakfast for a nice price. The manager gave me four room keys so I could choose the best one for me. Recently renovated, the Ramsees is simple but very nice, accepts credit cards and always has a free magazine for you at the lobby. When you leave, they offer to keep your luggage until it's time to go to the airport. The staff is always helpful. This is one hotel we can recommend.
Other options
If you need to stay in London for more than one week, maybe it would be better to rent a flat. Prices can be between £250 and £550 for week, still cheaper than most hotels, with the added bonus of a small kitchen where you can cook anything you want. For those with less money there are the hostels, where you pay between £10 and £20 a night and sleep in a dormitory with a bunch of other people. If you don't care about that, a hostel can be a great place for making new friends.
